Humantay Lake | Full Day

It’s difficult to describe the beauty of Humantay Lake. You need to experience it for yourself. Located in the Vilcabamba mountain range, this short day hike might be challenging for some due to the rugged and steep nature of the trail. But once you catch a glimpse of the turquoise and emerald water, you’ll realize it was all worth it!

This is a challenging hike with an incredible pay off! We leave Cusco fairly early in the morning and enjoy a picturesque drive to our starting point. We start our hike in Soraypampa which sits at an elevation of 12,460 ft (3800 meters). The climb is short but steep so we’ll take our time and make plenty of stops to enjoy the local flora and fauna and take photos along the way. Once we reach the top, prepare to be stunned by the beauty and serenity of this glacier lake. The vibrant emerald green and turquoise blue will take your breath away. Savor the moment. Take plenty of pictures. After a bit of time, we’ll head down to the lake and enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch, we head back to Cusco.
